Description
The Kukui (Candlenut) tree was brought to Hawaii from Asia by the early Polynesian settlers. The Kukui tree has always had spiritual significance to Hawaiians, giving them hope for renewal. So much, that today it is even Hawaii’s state tree. The little white blossoms of the kukui are also the official island lei material of Moloka'i where I live.

Aloha Heidi, glad you like this image. I love the kukui tree. I have them all around my home here on Moloka'i. It's also nice to know their rich Hawaiian history. Mahalo!
