Thank you everyone for all of the comments, I don't think I ever got so many in one day! This beautiful bird of paradise had a very long stem and the flower was so heavy it fell to the ground next to the plant. I couldn't let that happen, so I cut it and brought it in to the house to admire and photograph the next morning.
