Description
Japanese fishermen started using green glass floats from 1910 to the 1970's. They were used to keep fishing nets afloat, but due to wear and tear of the nets, many floats escaped and drifted thousands of miles and many years in the ocean before finding their way along shore. For the lucky and determined treasure hunter, these floats can still be found on shorelines today in Japan, Scandinavia, Alaska, Washington, Oregon and here in Hawaii. I rescued this treasure on Molokai's East end, stuck in the volcanic rocks at waters edge.
